This kid's sleeping bag is lightweight, weighing only about 1.1 pounds. It is rated to 20 degrees Fahrenheit. It's a 3 season bag. Even when this bag gets wet it stays warm and comfy. That's because it contains a newer type of insulation called Climashield HL synthetic insulation. The North Face Tigger sleeping bag is a mummy bag, not the rectangular or blanket style.  

It has a warm flannel lining that girls love and there is a nifty zipper pull that glows in the dark. It has a safe design that is appropriate for kids. It doesn't have any cords or elastic by the child's head or upper body.  It comes with a case or sack to tuck it into but it is a rather tight fit and may cause a child to struggle  a bit.  This bag has been tested out in the wild, camping and backpacking.  Because it is so lightweight it does make it easy to carry while hiking.

It has a good one-year warranty. Your child may grow out of it by then if she or he is a pre-teen. So make sure to measure height. This is a good winter bag and probably more than you need if you only need a summer sleeping bag.
